The Three-Tiered Waterfall is a game of hide-and-seek played by the Creator; it managed to elude even Xu Xiake’s keen eyes and did not reveal its true form until this century. Just as a famous novel offers endless surprises, so too do famous mountains. Among the many waterfalls of Yandangshan, the Three-Tiered Falls are the most extraordinary, with the Middle Tier being the crowning jewel—some even call it “Yandang’s Finest Scenic Spot.” It is said that the Middle Tier is nestled within a cooled volcanic crater, where fire and water are both in conflict and in harmony.

Bus Information
Buses are available from both Yandang Town, where the scenic area is located, and Xiangtouling, the center of the scenic area. During peak season, green minibuses run to all major attractions within the scenic area (“Two Spirits and One Dragon”). These buses depart once they reach 10 passengers and are very affordable; a ride from the easternmost point at the intersection of National Highway 104 and Yandang Town (Baixi) to the westernmost point at Dalongqu costs only 6.5 yuan. A trial run of the Yandang Mountain tourist bus from the train station to the Dalongqu Scenic Area is currently underway. The 29-seat bus operates from 6:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with the following route and stops: Train Station – Baixi Street Parking Lot – Yandangshan Station – Xuan’gang – Songxue Road – Litouzui, Songyang Village – Yandangshan Management Committee – Tourist Distribution Center - Shitangtou - Xianglingtou - Chaoyang Cave Parking Lot - Lingfeng Scenic Area - Tourism Company - Sanze Waterfall Scenic Area - Outside Xiangyan Gate - Inside Xiangyan Gate - Lingyan Scenic Area - Aoshui Pond - Xiaolingyan Primary School - Fangdong Intersection - Fangdong Cable Car Station - Rentang - Guozhaomen - Sanguantang - Dalongqu Scenic Area.
