Ximen Island Paradise consists of two parts: a homestay and a water park. The island’s specialty foods are pea cakes and rice cakes. These pastries are off-white in color, sweet and delicious, and are said to have cooling properties that help clear heat and detoxify the body. Best of all, they’re very affordable—you can buy one for just 1 yuan. If you’ve booked a homestay room without meals, you can buy them at a small shop just 50 meters away in the morning—they make a great breakfast!

For meals, you can easily dine at the nearby farm-style restaurant within Ximen Island Park. The braised water duck here is a must-try dish; the duck meat is tender and delicious, and kids especially love it. However, since the ducks aren’t very large, the portions aren’t huge, so it might not be enough for a large group!

This is one of the more upscale hotels in the area, primarily featuring private dining rooms and catering mostly to banquets hosted by local businesses. The food is delicious, with a good variety of dishes and flavors, but the prices are on the high side.
