Dalongqu Scenic Area

The area between Ma'anling and Dongling was historically known as Xinei Valley. Within the valley flows the Jinxi River, which originates from Dalongqu, flows through Xingxia Gorge, follows the Jinzhu Stream, and eventually empties into the Qingjiang River before reaching the sea. It is said that when Xie Lingyun once explored the secluded Jinzhu Stream, he was ultimately unable to ascend into the mountains, thus missing the opportunity to encounter Dalongqu. Had he not, the title of founding patriarch of Yandangshan might not have fallen to the foreign monk Nuo Ju. To sit in meditation at Dalongqu amidst the misty rain is a blessing. Even if you live in Huangguoshu, not visiting Dalongqu would be a regret.

You can take the scenic area shuttle bus (currently free of charge) from either Yandang Town or the Visitor Center to reach the scenic area. The route and stops are as follows: Train Station – Yandangshan Station – Tourist Hub – Xianglingtou – Lingfeng Scenic Area – Sanze Waterfall Scenic Area – Lingyan Scenic Area – Fangdong Scenic Area – Dalongqu Scenic Area.
