Men Scenic Zone |
| Two cliffs facing each other, it will
be called as Gate. Xiansheng Men Gate is the rare of Mt. Yandang
though there are many sites named Gate in Mt. Yandang. The two
cliffs of Xiansheng Men Gate are all more than two hundred meters
high but the distance between them is only several meters, which
is so steep to make people feel faint and can not stay here
for long time. It's better to have relaxation after tension.
The beautiful and peaceful Futou River and Pinaster Slope River
that locates beside them will make you relax just like a Queen
dancing before a King. This effect of relaxation and tension
is magical. Many tourists said the disadvantage of Mt. Yandang
is that there is not too much water, but they don't know that
the majority of good water locates in Dangyin. Out of Gates
and Rivers, there are a serial of places of interests with the
first letter of "Xian". Spreading Water Rock with executive
manner and South He Tablet Collection with rare culture in Mt.
Yandang, all those are chord music of Xiansheng Men Gate. The
magic of nature shows everywhere here. |

| 'Xiansheng Men Gate is "Stone Gate" formed
by the two cliffs facing each other and named as "Fairy Sheng
Men Gate" at the same time. This gate is of 200 meters high
and approximately 10 meters wide. It is generally called as
"the First Gate of China" and is the top one in all Gates
of Mt. Yandang. The two cliffs are so high that it seems they
reached the heaven with grand vogue. Water flows in the bottom
while the cliffs stand all around. There's only one line of
bright in the valley, somebody said that except the noon and
middle night, you can not see the sun or the moon in other
time of the whole day.
Wang Guan in Ming Dynasty wrote in his Visiting Stone Buddha
Cave described the view of Xiansheng Men Gate as: "The two
rocks are all of several units and reach each other at the
top. There's only one line of about one third meter. After
hundreds of steps entering it, it's just like a gate on the
Heaven, so its name is Xainsheng Men Gate." Xu Xiake wrote
in his Additional Essay Visiting Mt. Yandang: "There are nearly
no road at all that I can't enter it". You will know how steep
the roads were at that time. |
