Xianqiao
Bridge Scenic Zone |
| The furthest north of Mt. Yandang
is the Xianqiao Bridge Scenic Zone. It is said that a immortal
named Wang Zijin land on riding a crane. Many view sites here
have relationship with this immortal: Xianqiao Bridge, Xianting
Pavillian, Xianren Cave (North Rock Beam), Fluting Peak, Xianting
Pavilion Mountain, Rock Chessboard etc.. In the range of the
scenic zone of one hundred square kilometers, there are fresh
immortal atmosphere around the water and hills everywhere. The
river is named as Xianxi River and the lake as Dragon Lake among
where there are lands and hills. The virtuous lady who jumped
the cliffs was named as Xiangu Girl and the cave where she hided
in was named as Xiangu Lady Cave. Since human respects Buddha,
fears the god and like the immortal so the immortal is human's
favorite. Because the immortal is people's ideal to beyond their
own human, so the land of the immortal is that of human. All
beautiful scenic sites could be viewed as both immortal land
and human's land. The farmer in the Peachblossom Fountainhead
is the immortal in the eyes of people outside it. |

[Xianqiao
Bridge Scenic Zone] == North Rock Beam Cave |
| North Rock Beam Cave is a natural
cave and another name of it is "Xianren Cave".
On top of the cave there are Dragon Rock, Lion Rock, Carp
Rock, Watching Moon Rabbit and other scenic sites. Also there
is a clear and fresh spring falls from the top. There are
three main halls of Buddhist wood temple residential houses
and some kitchens. There are Sending Children Kwan-yin, Buddha,
Mammon and Wenqu Star.
Two hundred years ago, Shi Yuanfu didn't record any construction
in the cave in his Records of Mt. Yandang. Until Jiaqing of
Qing Dynasty, the Xiandong Cave Temple was built but it has
been already ruined and the current construction in the cave
was built in 1989.
It is said that Wang Zijin, the immortal blew the vertical
flute at the bridge and had a rest here so this cave was named
as Xianren Cave. |

Bridge Scenic Zone] == Xiangu Lady Cave |
| Xiangu Lady Cave is a rare cave
of try square shape. There is a construction of brick and
wood which is mainly for Taoism. On the second floor there
are three stone tablets which were made in Qing Dynasty. The
left and right ones are scenic tablet and the there is a decree
carved on the middle one with the content to title Li Yulian
as Virtuous Lady. Some of the letter can not be read since
it is a long time. On the third floor, there are Three Pure
Ones and in the right side, there is figure of Xiangu Lady.
This cave was open in the first year of Xuantong and was
developed formally in Xianfeng Period.
It is said that in 1861 Xianfeng Period of Qing Dynasty,
Li Yulian, the daughter of Li Gongqiao in Linhai Taizhou City
hided in this cave. In 1864, she jumped the cliffs to avoid
the gang. Guangxu Emperor knew it and decreed her as Virtuous
Lady. After that people respected her as Xiangu Lady and called
this cave as Xiangu Cave and built Xiangu Tomb at the place
where she died.
Inside the Xiangu Cave it's a beautiful view with green and
red color. Outside it there are mountains and steep cliffs
around it. There is Xiangu Tomb near the cave. |
