It is famous by its mountains, water and gorgeous views as "the famous mountain in the sea", "the emperor of mountains" and was called as "The First Mountain in Southeast China". Because there is a lake and spreading reed, and the wild geese come and live here in autumn, so it is called as Yandang.

Yandang Mountains lasts for hundreds of miles. It could be stored as North Yandang, Mid Yandang, South Yandang, West Yandang (Zeya), East Yandang (Dongtou Banping Mountain). Generally speaking, the Yandang Mountain scenic zone is mainly the North Yandang locating in Yueqing City. Because it locates in the area where the ancient volcano acted very frequently, so the mountains show special rocks and unique stones like peak, pillar, frusta, cave,wall, which could more or less be called as a museum of different physiognomy.

The North Yandang is famous for its unique peaks and waterfalls. There are eight scenic zones with a 450 of more than 450 square miles. The most well-known is Lingfeng Peak, Lingyan Rock and Dalong Qiu, which are called as "Three Fantastic Places of Mt.Yandang".

Location: It locates in the middle and north of Yueqing City which bases in Zhejiang Province, near Nanxi River Scenic Zone.

The name "yandang" comes from the lake of beautiful view on the top of the mountain and where the spreading reed, and the wild geese come and live here in autumn, with an area of 450 square mills. There are more five hundred scenic views in those eight scenic zones, famous by special peaks, strange stones, ancient cave, stone rooms, waterfalls and springs.

Lingfeng, Lingyan and Dalong Qiu are called as Three Fantastic Places of Mt. Yandang, especially the Night View of Lingfeng Peak and Flying across Lingyan are unique views in China, people called it as "Bright Yard" of Mt. Yandang. Li Xiaoguang, a litterateur of Yuan Dynasty said, "Lingfeng is the most steep and beautiful site; Lingyan is the most massive and enormous site", which tell the different beauty of the two "Ling". Lingyan ancient temple as the center, Pingxia Peak locating in the back, Heaven Pillar and Flag Peak in the left and right, Lingyan makes you feel peaceful in its view.

Lingfeng Peak will make you feel existed but Lingyan Rock makes you peaceful. But as we all know that people are afraid of too much silence, so there is acrobatic performance of Flying across Lingyan. In fact, there are many fabulous sites in Lingyan such as Heaven Window Cave, Dragon Nose Water, Xiaolong Qiu, Beautiful Girl Peak, Double Pearl Waterfall etc., but they all hide.

Lingyan Rock Scenic Zone knows that to hide the beauty is more different than to hide the ugly and this makes it a better scenic site. The Yandang scenic views are famous by peaks, caves, rocks, springs, doors and shied-like peaks. All those special peaks, unique rocks, cliffs, ancient caves, rock rooms, forest, valleys, waterfalls, springs, especially the sunrise in Yanhu Lake, and cloud ocean in Baigang are spoken highly by tourists. The Night View of Lingfeng Peak and Flying across Lingyan are more fantastic.

There is another characteristic of Mt. Yandang. In order to view the mountain views, you do not need to be too tired to climb the steep alley. All you have to do is just walking along a flat carpolite road slowing, then all the peaks and rocks will be in your perspective. That's because all the peaks mainly stands in plain ground abruptly, which could be viewed as the fortunes of the tourists.
