Yanming Tea has other names of "Yandang Maofeng" and "Yandang Cloud and Fog". It is of green tea. It must be picked between the period of Clear & Bright and Grain Rain. One leaf in one bud or three leaves in one bud are chosen to make it tea. Its colour is fresh green with fragrance and clear and rich taste. It has been called as one of Five Titbits of Mt. Yandang from Ming Dynasty. It was said that in Oujiang Anecdote: "The tea in Yan Mountain is the top of all that in Ou Area." It is true. It was chosen as tribute in Song, Ming and Qing dynasties and in 1954 it was chosen as national well-known tea.

Yanming Tea grows in foggy place of high mountains in Long Qiu Back, Yuanbao Xin, Lianhua Cave and Yanhu Gang. It is humid and the soil is rich.
